The asset manager for a changing world
BNP PARIBAS ASSET MANAGEMENT - Emerging Street Asia 1440x300

Parvest Equity China

  • The fund invests at least 75% of its assets in equities and/or equity equivalent securities issued by companies that have their registered offices or conduct the majority of their business activities in China, Hong Kong or Taiwan.
  • The fund may invest in derivatives (up to 100%). These types of investments can involve material additional risks, for example counterparty default risk or insolvency, volatility risk, liquidity risk, leverage risk and valuation risk, and may expose the fund to significant losses.
  • The fund has significant exposure to emerging markets and a single country (China) and is likely to be subject to a greater concentration risk and higher volatility than a more diversified investment. Emerging markets may have higher legal, regulatory and political risk.
  • The management company may at its discretion pay dividends out of the capital of the fund. Payment of dividends out of capital amounts to a return or withdrawal of part of an investor’s original investment or from any capital gains attributable to that original investment. Any distributions involving payment of dividends out of the fund’s capital may result in an immediate reduction of the net asset value per share.
  • Investors should not solely rely on this document to make any investment decision. Please refer to the Singapore offering documents for further information (including the risk factors) about the fund.
  • Lead Portfolio Manager Caroline Yu Maurer, Head of Greater China Equities Investment, based in Hong Kong and manages a team of 6 investment professionals with a long track record of investing in Chinese stocks. The team conducts more than 300 company meetings per year.
  • We believe the Chinese government’s economic reforms and financial sector liberalisation are fostering healthier and more sustainable growth over the long term. As personal incomes rise and the government continues to promote measures to boost domestic consumption, local Chinese companies are expected to benefit.
  • The fund invests in what we believe to be the 40 to 60 companies with the most long-term growth potential. Each stock is carefully analysed, with a particular focus on finding under-appreciated stocks that may be revalued. The investment team visits companies regularly. They pay particular attention to corporate governance, the development strategy as well as the quality and valuation of assets.
